BLAST stands for Balanced Level of Aerobic/Anaerobic and Strength Training. Everything you need in just 60 minutes for a total-body workout. Oh, and it’s a BLAST.
While we are all about the community, the fun, and the awesomeness of working out at BLAST, we are also very much about the science. High Intensity Interval Training (“HIIT”) is an exercise strategy that alternates periods of intense exercise with brief recovery periods. HIIT training is the most efficient and effective way to build muscle, lose weight and improve your cardiovascular system. You will be burning calories and blasting fat long after your workout is over.
You can book classes online, you can download our free app and sign up on-the-go, you can email us, you can call us, or you can just stop by the front desk when you are at the studio and they will help you sign up. Whatever is easiest for you!
Yes, so you can become a part of the family! It’s easy stuff: name, address, email, electronic waiver and your credit card information to keep on file so you can get started right away.
We love this question and we love our mommas and mommas-to-be! We pride ourselves on the fact that we designed this program with every fitness level in mind. Whether you’re pregnant, or just had a baby, you can go at your own pace. Your instructor will be right there guiding you through the safest, most effective workout for you during every trimester and after delivery!
One word: MODIFICATIONS. We offer and coach modifications for every move you make during every class. Hamstring, shoulder, back injury…they happen; and if you’re that person that just isn’t going to quit, we will be right beside you getting you through it, move-by-move and step-by-step. Every instructor is trained for these modifications and to correct your form. If they’re on our roster, they’re good. Real good. We promise.
Calories isn’t our favorite word at BLAST because no two people are the same. The only way to truly know how many calories YOU will burn in a class, or anywhere you exercise, is to have your BLAST Profile done.
Yes, we know, you want to bring your kids, your nephews, your nieces, your neighbor’s kids because BLAST is so amazing. To protect growing bodies, you must be 16 years old to take a class. 16 and 17 year olds need a parent to sign their waiver. Check with one of our Client Experience Team members to make sure you’re good to go before the start of your first class.
1st BLAST
Your first class should be whichever one fits your schedule the best. Each and every BLAST class utilizes the interval method. You will always get 30 total minutes of cardio on the treadmill and 30 minutes of full-body strength training on the floor. Go ahead and choose your first class, sign up, and get ready to change your life in 60 minutes!
Not at this time, but you are getting the same 60 minutes of BLAST no matter what!
You want to do 60 minutes of one or the other? You’re crazy! But, if it happens the class is not full, you are more than welcome to do double tread or double floor.
Yes! We have everything you need from showers, towels, shampoo and conditioner to hair dryers, bobby pins and so on. You get the gist.
There is a dynamic warm-up at the beginning of each class, including stretching, to get your body ready to move until the clock hits 0:00. At the end of class we always do a static stretch of every muscle group which is so important after a workout like this. No stone left unturned. No muscle left unworked or unstretched. The most complete, full-body workout you can get for just an hour out of your day.
Number one priority: good running/walking shoes. Wear whatever you are most comfortable working out in, whatever you like to sweat in, just make sure it’s clean. You know that person that wears their workout clothes two days in a row or washes them in hand soap? Not that.
We take “60 minutes” very seriously at BLAST. Barbara Walters serious. We have a countdown clock that starts the moment the class begins. Please arrive 30 minutes before class if you’ve never BLASTed before so we can educate you about safety, procedures, teach you how to use your locker, introduce you to your instructor and assistant and get you ready to rock before that clock starts!
Upon arrival to the studio the first thing that you should do is check in at the front desk where a member of our Client Experience Team will get you signed in and walk you through the studio.
Well, here’s the deal, if you’ve had your Profile done then you won’t even ask this question. You do not have to wear one, but if you are educated on why you should and how to use it, you will. We do not provide them, but we sell them in the studio.
You should always get something in your stomach before you do any exercise! Eating something small about an hour before class is recommended so you can digest. After class, you’re going to want to also eat something easily digestible like a smoothie or yogurt, not a cheeseburger. Our Registered Dietitians offer services that include great coaching and guidance on this topic and all things nutrition!
Policies
We didn’t want to write this any more than you want to read it, but give it a skim so we’re all on the same page and everyone is happy!
Reservations may be cancelled online, through our app (“BLASTLife” in the app store) or by calling the studio at least 8 hours prior to the start of class. If you cancel within the 8 hour window prior to the start of class, you will be charged a Late Cancel Fee. There are no exceptions.
If you do not cancel prior to the 8 hour Late Cancel window, you will be charged for a single class.
Clients with an Unlimited package will be charged the price of a single class to the credit card on file.
Clients with a series package will have a class pulled from their account.
You may switch classes only if you are doing so outside of the 8 hour window of the class you are currently signed up for. Doing so within the 8 hour window will mean you are within our Late Cancel Policy and you will be charged a Late Cancel Fee based on your package.
We know sometimes you are going to run late, things happen. Here is what you do: put your studio number in your phone. If you are an active package holder and you know you are going to be late (late means 5 minutes before class time), then call us and let us know and we will hold your spot. Class Pass clients are considered late once class begins. If you do not call or show up, we will assume you got stuck at work, in traffic, in a meeting, and you are terribly sad, but you will forfeit your spot to a waitlist or walk-in client and the late cancel policy will kick in. Capiche? Capiche.
Clients may sign up for class as far in advance as their package will allow.
You may. However, like all fine establishments, there is a good chance without a reservation you won’t find a seat at the table (or rather an empty tread). Moral of the story – make a reservation if you can, but walk-in clients are always welcome. Please check in at the front desk to ensure space availability. If the class is full, you will be added to the waitlist based on arrival time.
The waitlist is first come first serve!
Bummer! You’re bummed you missed it, we’re bummed you missed it, the person who couldn’t get into that class because there were no spots left is bummed they missed it. If you miss a class, our Late Cancel Policy kicks in and you are charged based on your package.
